The language we use has power. The ancients, as well as today’s PR firms understand the power of language to create. Abracadabra is purported to be a derivation of old Aramaic words meaning “I will create as I speak”. The Gospel of John in the New Testament begins “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God”. Sit with that idea for a moment. Candy flavors lure kids. Remember the story of Hansel and Gretel? How one day when they had taken too much of their parents neglect or cruelty (whether perceived or real) they ran away. They felt if they left a trail of breadcrumbs, they could find their way back. Instead, the breadcrumbs were eaten by the birds and they got lost. Breath is life. Take a deep breath. How does that feel to be able to fill your lungs? All to often we take this ability for granted and yet it is the very basis of life. The moment we are born we get a pat on the bottom to ensure that our cry will fill our lungs with all important oxygen. Oxygen is the fuel that powers our cells.
